Athabasca River Classic Canoe Trip
Description:  Paddle a canoe on the incredible Athabasca River near the Hamlet of Fort Assiniboine (1.5 hrs Northwest of Edmonton, AB). Make sure to bring a camera, as on this trip you will likely see an abundance of wildlife in some of Alberta's remote wilderness. Using a Canoe as your vehicle, stop and play on the beautiful cliffs and sand bars along the way.  In warm weather we may enjoy a swim at Walleye point and if time allows, we can top off the trip with a scenic visit to Historic Fort Assiniboine and enjoy a treat at the unforgettable Marty's Cafe.

Customize your Canoe Trip:
 

Half Day - (2 - 4 hours on the river) We'll start our adventure at Williams Flats and paddle past islands and stunning cliffs for the first hour, then stop for a break and a chance to swim, climb, and hike at Walleye Point.  From here, we will continue our journey past Goose Creek, some islands, and pause to admire or climb, the magnificent Holmes Crossing Sand Cliffs.  Arriving at the Bridge near Fort Assiniboine marks the end of the trip.  Adults - $70, Teens(12-15yrs) - $50, Children(6-11yrs) - $40, under 5yrs - free. 
 
Full Day Trip - (4 to 6 hours on the river) We'll start our adventure at Williams Flats and paddle past islands and stunning cliffs for the first hour, then stop for a break and a chance to swim, climb, and hike at Walleye Point.  From here, we will continue our journey past Goose Creek, a few islands, the magnificent Holmes Crossing Sand Cliffs, and then paddle under the bridge near Fort Assiniboine. Our guides will teach some basic and necessary river maneuvers in order to navigate a few riffles and deep-water channels as we approach the Hamlet of Fort Assiniboine. The group will decide if we continue to our takeout spot or pause along the river and walk up to see the "World's Largest Wagon wheel" and stop in at the Klondike Cafe for a sweet treat or special coffee.  We will return to the river and complete the short paddle downstream to our takeout point just past the Big Island.

- Group rates available for 10 or more participants
-  All fees include insurance, certified instructors, canoes, paddles, and PFD's.  Individuals are encouraged to bring personal PFD's, paddles, fishing equipment, and fishing license.
-  PFD's must be worn at all times when in Canoes.
-  You will receive an email after your purchase and as the trip draws near with a required/recommended packing list, along with suggestions for packing lunch and snacks. 


-  Transportation to our meeting place near Fort Assiniboine is Not provided or included in the price, so please plan accordingly.
 

**Full refunds are available for cancellations 30 days or more from the trip start date. With cancellations less than 30 days prior to the start of the course all monies are non-refundable and non-transferable. These policies reflect the fact that we do not overbook, and canceled spaces are very difficult to fill at the last minute.
